I do agree with you, Anton should not be fired. He is one of the best sales people in the company. There are many actions that could be taken against Anton before firing him. Regarding hiring member from his family, I think that it is ok to do so since they are a segment of people in ourlives that we could trust.

DeleteAnton doesn't deserve to be fired. He has been working hard to ensure a successful future for the company at the expense of his own social life. Keeping his relatives close to him is a smart move, as they are people he could fully trust with confidential information without fearing them to be exposed. if anything, the company should simply cut back from his salary the amount he spent to purchase the perfume for his wife.
DeleteBader AlShahab 8311
I agree with bader regarding what decision the company should make. The company can approach this issue in many ways, not necessarily having to fire Anton. Anton is an asset to the company, and should not be fired.

I disagree with Baders opinion, because Anton's unethical behavior is not working towards the benefit of the company.I would advise Anton to address his salary level with this supervisors rather than use company credit cards for his personal use and lie to Accounting. Speaking about company matters even to family is unethical and I would suggest that he does not discuss confidentiality matters of the company outside of the office.

ReplyDeleteI think Anton should be fired. Though he had shown great sense of judgment and achievement in the past, his methods have changed in the last while. Although his focus on employing his relatives could be considered, since he believes in their potential, it could also be seen as an opportunity to save them jobs, and this kind of thinking could really hurt the company in the long run.

Well, Anton should be fired due to several things that he did which may lead to some consequences that can affect the company in the future. Mainly, in the first place he shouldn’t use the company’s bank account to purchase perfume for his wife and changing the receipt to others. Obviously, Anton is breaking the company’s policies. Moreover, he shouldn’t tell his brothers everything about private and confidential information of the company because the company may get bankruptcy. Furthermore, he shouldn’t have hired his nephew with no degree while he got reject in the first place, then hired again by him. Apparently, it’s not fair because there are appliers who applied for same job but with a degree. At last, Anton’s uncle who is the CEO of the company in the Middle East should resign if he knew about his family issues that are occurring in the company.

I agree with your opinion, i think that Anton have been shown a unethical and careless behavior towards the company's policies. His behavior would influence other employee negatively, they would think that breaking the rules is acceptable and the company is being flexible with that.
DeleteI strongly agree with my classmate that Anton should be fired for not following the company instructions and disobeying the rules. For buying perfume for his wife, Even if was a small amount of money it will be noticed by the accountant that there is a lack in the budget and they may accuse someone else. Moreover; trusting his brother by telling him the company’s secrets and details may lead to a lot of disadvantages because the company trusts Anton himself not his brother. So if the company trusts Anton it doesn’t mean that they trust his brother. Also giving his nephew a job better than what he deserves, will affect the company’s reputation, that they are employing untrained employment.
DeleteI think that Anton should be fired because he disobeyed the company’s rules. First of all, he hired his nephew which had no degree and got rejected after his interview, but Anton decided to hire him. This is not fair and unethical to all people who has a degree and worked hard to get this job. Secondly, he disrespected the financial rules. He knows that he should not use the business’s credit card to make any personal purchases. Such as purchasing the perfume to his wife and changing the receipt. They trusted him and gave him an open contract of the credit card, so he should use it wisely and correctly. Thirdly, he should not speak or mention about any confidential information outside the company, even to his brothers. He should certainly not remark any private information externally, due to not risking the company. Lulu Al-Munayekh

Anton should be fired due to his latest unethical behavior. Anton have break the company’s rules by buying his wife a perfume using the company’s business card that is used only for business expenses. Anton have been working for 5 years and know about the company’s policy toward using the business card very well. His latest actions have shown that he is being careless about the policies and rules. Furthermore, he should be fired for using his position in the company for hiring his nephew who have no degree which is opposed the company’s hiring laws. Finally, he Anton should not give any secret information about the company he is working for even for his family.
ReplyDeleteAmeenah AlKharji 8984
I agree that what Anton did was unethical, because it was a violation to the company's policies. However, i believe that Anton was working since five years and he didn't receive any warning so he shouldn't be fired directly without giving him a last chance to resolve what he did.

ReplyDeleteThe company can give Anton a warning to resolve all the wrong actions he did within a specific period of time or he would be considered as fired. The reason why I came up with this solution is that it is hard for the company to find a loyal sales director who is a hard worker and never takes a weekend off, as well as considered being an underpaid!
ReplyDeleteIf Anton does not resolve the problem with the specified period he should be fired for several reasons. First, he bought a perfume with the company’s credit card and submitted as a business expense, which is a violation to the business policy. Second, he rehired his nephew although he does not have a degree , which is against the policy of the company. Another thing is opening a five years sales contract with his brother company, which has been considered as not being financially solid and having a bad credit rating.
Arwa Alkous 7812
While I agree with all the reasons you have mentioned for his dismissal, I don't think that he should be given a second chance. I think that the negatives of his presence at MEGlobal outweigh the positives. To begin with, the message that it sends to the rest of the employees at the company is "you can get away with unprofessional behavior" if he continues to work their. And what about his morale, will he be able to bounce back and regain the boards trust? He will become an unwanted liability at the company in my opinion. Also I don't think that it is hard to find a replacement, I think there are plenty of qualified people out there who are willing to work day in and day out at a company of MEGlobal's stature.
DeleteAbdullah AlDousari 10556

I don't agree with you that Anton should be given a second chance. Companies can easily find a hard working employees everyday which add a great value to the company, but it is hard to find an ethical and professional person who acts on the best interest of the company and fulfill his duties by following the company's policies. Not firing him will send a wrong message to the company's employees and other companies indicating that the company doesn't mind unethical practices. This will have a great impact on the image of the company locally and internationally moreover the employees will think that it is ok to break the rules since they can have a second chance to fix things.
Regardless of Anton's positive performance as the Director of Sales at MEGlobal, he has repeatedly contravened with the company's code of business conduct, and thereby should be fired. Not complying with a company's policy shouldn't necessarily always result in the dismissal of an employee. However in Anton's case, there were some unforgiving decisions he made and unprofessional mischievous behaviors. The manner in which Anton decides to change the receipt to read "miscellaneous" instead of "perfume" questions his intentions, if he really believed that the company would make an exception for his hard work, then why did he deem it to be necessary to change what the receipt read? I personally am not buying the story that it was purely to avoid issues with the accountants, I think he intentionally attempted to deceive the whole company despite the pettiness of the product. Moreover, If I was a board member at MEGlobal I would be extremely disappointed and angered by any employee who discloses confidential information with anyone, and that would be enough for me to fire them. The fact that Anton intervened to secure the deal with Trust Me in which he holds 30% of the stock, despite having bad credit ratings, is a clear indication that the deal was in the best interest of himself and brother and not MEGlobal, another reason to fire him. Lastly, as a Kuwaiti who will likely be negatively affected by the epidemic of "wasta's" sometime in my future career, I can not endorse Anton's actions in the way he has hired his nephew regardless of his potential. Continuing to have Anton at MEGlobal despite his actions, one has to ask what kind of message does that send to rest of the employees? Certainly not a positive one, and his continued presence at the company could potentially harm the professional environment that exists at MEGlobal.
ReplyDeleteAbdullah AlDousari 10556
I completely agree with you on the decision of firing Anton. It is always a shame for a company to lose a hardworking individual that does have value to add to its proceedings. However, a global organization must always be aware of its image both internally and externally. The point you make about the sort of message being sent to other employees is dead on.
DeleteAhmed Alzayed - 12021
Anton should not be fired, maybe demoted but not fired. If the company wants to cut something from his salary then they should cut only the perfume amount that he bought for his wife. DeleteRania Zahi - 10267
Anton should be fired for buying perfume from the company's bank account for his wife. Even though he has the policy to use the bank credit card it is unethical to use it for personal issues. And his wife should wait to get the perfume. Moreover; he used 'Wasta' to his nephew to hire him after he has been rejected from the company itself and a lot of people who have a better career should be hired instead of his nephew . Furthermore; he was giving his brother private information regarding the company business.
ReplyDeleteA person who does these things does not love his job. Because he is mixing between family and work. So I don’t think his behavior shows loyalty for his work. He is loyal for his family. Also I consider his attitude as immoral for his job.
Farah alsarraf 10397
I agree with what my colleague says, Anton should be fired, a hard working employee like Anton is obviously aware of the companies rules and policies, yet, ignores them. Anton shouldn’t have employed his nephew who lacked skills, requirements and a degree. If his brother used this confidential information against Anton’s company, the company could go bankrupt. It is also that Anton used the company’s credit card and bought personal goods, he also changed the receipt before handing it to the accountant to avoid any issues, which is the wrong thing to do. And I agree that there should be a thin line between family and work, employee should not break the rules and play around to save family members.
DeleteShouq Thiab - 8447
I agree with Farrah. Anton should be fired from the company. these stations will effect on the company. however, he should follow the company's rules and policies.
DeleteIt is my belief that Anton's actions have drawn a clear cut case for dismissal. Breach of policy, nepotism, lack of adherence to the confidentiality agreement, the overriding of authority held by other personnel and selfishness were all shown by Anton in the case provided. Regardless of his loyalty and dedication Anton has shown that he will achieve results through his own methods but will also willingly show unethical behavior. MEGlobal has to be clear on its legal and ethical values; if results are all that matter then this case should have never been brought up in the first place. However, for a large organisation with its own Ethics & Compliance Committee there is much more to lose than just a single employee. For the sake of making a strong stand point with all of its employees and preserving the company's image Anton must be dismissed.
ReplyDeleteAhmed Alzayed - 12021
I believe that Anton should be fired because he’s violating the company’s privacy policy. Anton tells his siblings confidential information regarding the company. Yet, one of his siblings works for a company that is a regular customer of Anton’s company. If his brother used this confidential information against Anton’s company, the company could go bankrupt. It is also that Anton used the company’s credit card and bought personal goods, he also changed the receipt before handing it to the accountant to avoid any issues. Anton’s nephew was rejected the first time he was interviewed due to his lack of skills and needed requirements. However, despite the fact that he lacked skills and was rejected, Anton hired him.
ReplyDeleteShouq Thiab - 8447
I completely agree with you, the biggest mistake he committed was telling his brothers about confidential information regarding the company he works in, especially when he has agreed on having a five year unsecured payment terms contract with his brothers company which he is a shareholder in.
DeleteAnton should not be fired. He has been an efficient hard worker committed to his job and company for all his tenure. He offered inordinate success for the company by sacrificing his social life. At some point, Anton was wrong because he revealed confidential information about the company to his family members unintentionally. But he focused on employing his nephew Ibraheem, although his nephew has no university or collage degree Anton believed in him and wanted him for the available position. Additionally, Anton took in consideration that Ibraheem is a family member; therefore; he cannot reject his job application and at the same time to benefit from his language skills. If any actions should be taken, the company may cut a certain amount of his salary which is the perfume cost and they can give him a first verbal warning.
ReplyDeleteRania Zahi - 10267
I strongly agree with you in regards of your decision. The mistakes we make should always be used as learning and coaching opportunity. However, I think a verbal warning would be a bad choice of an option since other employees or managers would make mistakes because there will be no fear of losing their job.
DeleteSondos Salman 10753
I believe that Anton should be punished for his actions, but the company should not fire him. The company can do things such as deduct Anton's salary, and make him pay for the perfume he bought for his wife. I agree with the decision Anton made by procuring his relatives is a clever move since relatives are the people an individual ought to trust in his/her life. The company should take into consideration all the hard work and dedication Anton has put into his job. Anton has sacrificed his social life and wedding day. I believe all these factors should be taken into account by the company when making the critical decision, regarding Anton's future at the company.

I agree with my colleague, firing Anton would be a harsh move considering all the hard work he has done for the company while neglecting his personal life. The company needs to appreciate and praise his performance. However, he is not allowed to share confidential information about the company even to well trusted relatives because it violates the policy. But genuinely I don't think his intention was to harm the company when he discussed some of the company's matters to his brother, it was rather a brief/naive conversation.

ReplyDeleteAnton has issues with honesty, integrity and business ethics. Firstly, Anton should not declare his transaction in the duty free as a company miscellaneous charge. What he should have done is not purchased the perfume because it is not his company’s fault that his personal charge cards were not accepted and to justify his thievery by stating that his company owes him something was wrong. He also inappropriately shared private company information with his family members which is a breach of confidentiality to his position in the company. The third issue is that if Anton thought his nephew was qualified for the sales position in his company, then he should have been above board with the HR department and told them about why his nephew has potential accentuating his language skills. What is most disturbing is that Anton, who is a shareholder holding 30% stock in his brother’s company, TrustME, wants to risk the company’s position by doing business with TrustME. To extend credit to this company that is not financially solid with a bad credit rating and further to enter a five year agreement with them was highly inappropriate considering that this could jeopardize the company and his relationship with his uncle that is the CEO of the company. In conclusion, Anton's decision-making skills are contrary to the benefit of the company overall, so I think he should be fired from his position on grounds that I stated previously in my comment.

I do agree with all the mistakes that Anton have done, but firing a dedicated employee is bad for the company, some of his mistakes could have been prevented. What he did with the TrustMe shares has nothing to do with MEglobal, i absolutely disagree with him signing a an unsecured payment. But The only two things he did was using the credit card and employing his nephew which is not a big issue. Firing him will only create bad publicity but stripping away his benefits and privileges would have been a better way to tackle such an issue.

I think Anton should be fired; he did many mistakes that effect on the company. First he shouldn't take many from the company's bank account for his privates needs. Second, he should be fair and honest in employment any one. He employs his nephew with no degree and bad history in his job. Moreover, he shouldn't tell his brothers anything that related to the company. So I think he violated the company’s rules and he deserves to get faired.

I strongly agree with you Shahad to all the points you had mentioned about why he should be fired especially hiring his nephew Ibrahim. Ibrahim was declined from the company's recruitment office due to not having the required qualifications that are needed in the MEGlobal Company and Anton hired him to work for the company.
DeleteShahan Al-Fagan 10508
Anton shouldn’t be fired, he has been a hard worker for 5 years, served the company greatly and has always prioritized his job over his personal life. However, He should be penalized for his actions. For starter, he wouldn’t use the company credit card to buy a perfume if he was well-paid. So, this issue would be sidestepped from the company itself. What he has done is technically legal but highly unethical as we’ve studied in business law ethics. Although, sharing secretive details about the company with his brother is against the policy of the company because confidential information should remain within the company. Thus, he should be punished for violating the company’s policy. Regarding the recruitment of his unqualified nephew; if the CEO has agreed upon the recruitment there is absolutely no violation of any policy. Even though his nephew is underqualified and has no degree, it is legal and violates no policies but yet unfair to many qualified applicants and considered as unethical business behavior. Unfortunately, this situation happens relatively all the time. In order to avoid these situations from raising in the future the company must appreciate its hard working employees and pay them well. Secondly, the company needs to have an accountant who checks the company expense statements with details of every transactions. Thirdly, all recruitments must be through HR department regarding requirements, no exceptions. Finally, the company should clarify its guidelines and policies for everyone.
ReplyDeleteShahad Khadher

I believe that should be fired due to several reasons. The first reason is that even though he thinks he is being not treated well and he deserves more which is true, he could have better ways to tell them he wanted a raise instead of " stealing money" from the company. Even though it is just a perfume in the end it's counted as stealing. The other reason is that he hired his nephew which is not qualified enough and didn't tell the company that it's his nephew which is also wrong because he might treat him differently and it's unfair. In the end Anton used the company money under falls pretenses.

I believe that Anton should be fired; he has violated numerous company policies throughout his five years as an employee. As an employer I would cut the same amount of money he spent on personal expenses but would never fire him since he is a hardworking employee for such a simple act. As opposed to the previous case, I would definitely fire him for sharing confidential information that considers the company with non-employees since it is a very unethical act. Word of mouth is powerful, spreads quickly and may ruin the company if it reaches the wrong people. As for hiring his nephew, I would not fire him but warn him and fire his nephew instead since he is not qualified for the job. Since the company cares about ethics and its employees are still acting unethically, it should upgrade its Ethics & Compliance Committee, which is clearly not doing their job well.

However, due to what he has done with the company's money, he should face some consequences. I believe that Anton should be fired. Anton violated the company's credit card policy; employees are required to only use this corporate card for business expenses only. It clearly stated that there are no exceptions that are permitted to this rule. Anton knew that yet he still acquired his purchase using the company’s credit card. If he felt like he was overworked and underpaid he could have simply spoken with his employer to get a raise. He then changed the word "perfume" to "miscellaneous" on the receipt in order not to get in trouble with the accounting department. Being underpaid and over worked is no excuse for him to break the company's policy and use the business card for a personal purchase. He not only broke the credit card policy, but he also gave out the company’s confidential information to his relatives. Anton's brother Peter, who has just incorporated his new company TrustMe, would like to buy products from the company that Anton works for. The credit department in the company that Anton works for didn't want to give TrustMe any unsecured personal and confidential payment terms because TrustMe has bad credit rating and is not financially solid. Anton clearly used nepotism when he signed a five year unsecured payment contract as Director of Sales with TrustMe he has put the company under financial risk. In addition, he used nepotism again to hire his nephew who did not acquire the required qualifications. He then decided to inform the HR department that he is hiring Ibrahim (his nephew), without mentioning that Ibrahim is his nephew. This is unethical because he could be taking away this job opportunity from someone who actually meets the job requirements. He was very confident in doing so since the CEO is his uncle and he was sure that his uncle would support all of his decisions. In conclusion, Anton should be fired due to several reasons; he broke the company's credit policy, he gave out confidential information regarding the company he is working for, he used nepotism to grant his brother a five year unsecured payment contract that could be a huge financial risk to the company he is working for, he also used nepotism to hire his nephew who did not meet the job requirements.

Anton did go against the company policy, and was unethical but a lot of his mistakes could have been prevented. If Anton was not underpaid then some of the issues would not have happened. The rest of his mistakes were not as serious as him using the corporate credit card. I personally would not fire Anton, the reason for not doing so is because it is very hard to find loyal employees, some may cross the lines but what i would do instead is strip away all his privileges and company benefits, demote him and he will be under strict supervision for a long in order to scare him straight. By doing this the company will not lose a valuable employee, after been given a warning such actions should not occur in the future.

Anton should be fired for his unethical behavior. Although he is a hard worker, Anton knows better then to take the company for granted; therefore he should respect all rules and policies that the company had enforced on him and all the other employees. Anton is a smart man and a hard worker he should know that the company would not allow an employee to use the company card to buy anything that is not work related; a person’s job shouldn’t be mixed with. If he feels that he deserves to buy a gift for his wife from the company credit card he should be honest with them and not declare his transaction in the duty free as a miscellaneous. Moreover, Anton should not share the company confidential with his brothers. Even though Anton knew about the companies’ decision to reject his nephew due to his failure to present the company with a college degree; he wrongfully managed to hire him as an employee at the company. This decision was not his to make and that just proved that he is reckless, disrespectful, and it has proven that he is not as committed to work the way he should be.
ReplyDeleteSarah Al Maghamis
8336
Personally, I do believe that Anton should be fired because he has violated a couple of MEGlobal’s codes of business conduct. First of all, during Anton’s trip to Warsaw he purchased some perfume for his wife using the corporate credit card, which he should not have done because the corporate credit card should only be used for business expenses. To make this situation even worse, Anton submitted the receipt as a business expense and changed the receipt from “perfume” to “miscellaneous” to avoid creating any issues with the accountants at MEGlobal. This shows us that Anton is being unethical by lying to the company. Second of all, he is sharing confidential information regarding the business with his brothers, Vincent and Peter, who are not employees at MEGlobal, and again here he is committing an unethical act.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, Anton agreed to enter into a five-year sales contract with Trust Me, which is a company owned by Anton’s brother, Peter, and in which Anton is a shareholder holding 30% of the stock. He agreed to this contract even though the credit department at MEGlobal believed that they were not prepared to give Trust Me unsecured payment terms, and this is because they considered the company as not being financially solid and having a bad credit rating. Here Anton is creating a huge risk for MEGlobal by agreeing to this unsecure contract, as it may lead to future financial problems. Finally, Anton dishonored the companies hiring policy by employing his nephew, Ibrahim, who does not hold a university or college degree, even though Ibrahim was rejected once by the company’s recruitment office and was told that he did not have the required qualifications. Anton hired his nephew over individuals who do have a degree at hand and are highly qualified for the job. This shows us that Anton is preforming an act of nepotism, which is very unethical and unjust.
In conclusion, Anton is being unethical and is not taking into consideration MEGlobal’s ethical principles and policies. All of Anton’s wrong doings may lead to the creation of undesirable problems for MEGlobal in the future.

I think Anton should be fired because he is violating many policies. First of all he is sharing confidential information regarding the organization with his family which is against the company's policy. Also, he used the business card for personal usage; this indicates that he is not responsible. Moreover, he used his power in an unfair behavior when he hired his unqualified nephew. This will affect the company because the position of the nephew could be taken by a qualified person who will be more effective and efficient.

Due to Anton’s unethical behavior, he must get penalized for the things that he has done lately, starting with buying a perfume on the company’s credit which is considered fraud from the accounting perspective, and ending with hiring his nephew beside the fact that he doesn’t have the required qualifications for the position. However, after all these successful years with the company, Anton should be given another chance to prove his loyalty to the company; his hard work has increased the sales at the company and motivated other employees as well. Making mistakes is always part of the overall learning and development process, but the person should always use these mistakes as an opportunity to grow up.

I definitely agree with you, there should be a program implemented to teaching ethics and behavior towards the work space
DeleteAnton should not be fired due to the fact that he is a loyal employee, and he has always delivered superior results during the five years that he has held his position. He has been an excellent employee, and he works so hard and sacrifices so much of his time on the expense of his family. However, he is still underpaid and unappreciated by his firm. While it is true that Anton is committing unethical work behavior, which is completely unacceptable, it is still the firm’s responsibility to acknowledge its employees, appreciate them, and praise them when they deliver such excellent results similar to Anton’s. If the firm appreciated and rewarded Anton financially, he would not have committed the unethical behavior. He could be warned, penalized financially, and demoted, but not fired, because loyal and hardworking employees are difficult to find.

In my opinion, I strongly believe Anton should be fired for many reasons, because he did not follow the rules and regulations that are required to follow as an employee in this particular company. For example, Anton was provided with a corporate credit card used for business expenses only and not for personal entities when travelling. It is important to follow this rule since there are no exceptions given, whereas Anton broke the rule and used the credit card for personal things such as, buying a perfume for his wife. In addition, Anton did not only break this rule but also, he hired his nephew Ibrahim when the company's office recruitment had declined him due to not meeting the basic qualifications that are needed in the company such as, a college or university degree. Moreover, Anton is not allowed to give confidential information about the company to anyone including his family, which he failed in doing so. Although, Anton is a hard worker and loves his job, it does not mean he should break the rules and regulations of the company to satisfy his family. Thus, Anton deserves to be fired from MEGlobal Company.

In my opinion, I think Anton should be fired because of his unethical behavior at work. Since Anton has been in his job for years now, he is fully aware of the rules and regulations that the company has set which makes any illegal or unethical behavior of his unacceptable. Having him buy a perfume for his personal use or any other personal matter and changing the receipt is a violation of the companies rules. Not only did he cheat the accountants but he also leaked confidential information to his brothers about the organization to his brothers. It seems that Anton does not love his job and is actually not loyal, he is loving the fact that he can get away with everything wrong he has done. Another thing Anton did was hiring his nephew in a spot with the salary and position of a degree student after he had been rejected by the HR for not having a degree which was unethical and unfair to other applicants with a degree who were waiting for that chance. To avoid this situation the company could increase some employee's income and should have better management or surveillance over their organization.

I think that Anton should be fired. Because of what he doing is not good for company. Also, he should not use the company account to purchase other things that company do not need it. Therefore, i think Anton is not fair what he doing inside the company.

I did not agree with you to fired Anton. Because Anton work very hard an there are different dealing with Anton. The company must be punished and give him a new opportunity to prove himself. Also don't forget Anton that a good experience in MEGlobal.
DeleteIn my point of view, Anton is should not be fired why? there are many reason that push the company to keep Anton. First of all Anton have a good experience in the company. It was really a big mistake that Anton use money that from the company. I think he a good person he work hard but in the human nature love the money and this nature make people do anything to get money. Also the company should to think in other side that Anton have a lot of information of company and maybe they give this information for other companies .company should be rotated and given another chance.

I totally disagree with you Haitham. I think that the company should fire his even if he is a hard working employee. Anton has violated many policies of the company. The company trusted him and gave him a credit card to cover all his business expenses, and he did not respect that. He used it for personal purchases. In addition, he used to share everything about the company with his two brother which is wrong. Company's performance updates should be between employees only so that nobody misuse such an information against the company itself.

In my opinion, Although Anton is a hard working employee in the company, I think that he should be fired for many reason. First, Anton violated one of the company’s policies which is using the corporate credit card of the company for a personal purchase while it should only be used for business expenses. In addition, Anton shares every single detail and updates about the company with his two brothers, which is not right. Any information regards company’s performance should be kept between employees only because in some cases, there are some information that should not be shared with any outsider to avoid misusing it against the company itself.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, he tried to hire his nephew who has been rejected after applying for a job in the company. His nephew does not have any collage degree, and that is why they rejected him. However, Anton tried to manipulate facts and asked the Human Recourses department to hire his nephew. What Anton did with his nephew is not right as well because there are many people who might be qualified for that job more than his nephew who does not have a collage degree. Finally, Anton has entered a five years sales contract with his brother taking an advantage of his position in the company. Therefore, Anton should be fired because such an employee should never be trusted. Anton after all did not only break rules and policies of the company, but also did not think about what he did from an ethical view.

I think that Anton should not be fired. The sheer fact that he was loyal to his company and worked over time to the point where he missed his own wedding tells you something. If given he was fired, replacing such experience will be difficult and expensive. What I think should be done is that he should be punished, for the fraud and for giving away company secrets, since word of mouth is so powerful these days. His own brothers might not conceal such information and could slip to the wrong people. There is definitely a problem, but the problem isn't with Anton directly, it's how the company treats it's employees and how underpaid they are. If the company have treated it's employees better, then they would've not done such actions. With all that said, the company should also offer an ethics program to the employees, showing them what behavior is expected in the organization.

I believe that Anton should be not only just fired but also prosecuted for violating the business practice code, behaving in unethical and unprofessional way and for deserving the company and acting based on his interest. Having a position of a director of sales at MEGlobal force him to behave and conduct business in the most professional way as he is a role model for the other employees in the company failing to do so will have a great impact on the company in which employees wi believe that they can do anything they want to do and they can easily get away with it. Despite the five years of hard work in the company all of his actions indicates that he wasn't just working for the best interest of the company but also for the best interest of his family and brothers. Sharing confidential information with his brothers and getting them deal with the company indicates that he was thinking of his interest since he owns 30% of the shares of his brother'a company. As a director on the company his role is to work only for the best interest of the company violating this gives the company the right to fire and file a lawsuits against him.
